It’s Strange that things happen that question your presence,

But stranger indeed to see such big things make only a slight difference!

The so- called “funeral” was over, but there was no sign of remorse,

Even an animal would have been treated better, be it a dog or a horse.

My heart sank, bewildered with such acts of disgust,

But all I could do was to leave the body to rust.

Something pricked my eyes, something that was so clear,

How can someone be so mean, that too to someone so very near?

I was the one to feel her, in every tear of mine,

It was me who saw her, the last time before dying.

She had been crying all day, wailing all night long,

Laughter had forgotten to cherish her, gone were all her songs.

Something tanned her face black, giving it a bold mark,

It was something beyond the sun, beyond the mud in the park,

Destiny had cursed her, all she had was pain abound,

Mocked she was by the games of life, left with an incurable wound.

Reality seemed all false, like someone had played a dirty prank,

Still she was so brave, every painful tonic she drank.

What was her mistake, how was she responsible?

Why was she targeted, to be left black and dull?

She had been a victim to fate,

Yet she accepted challenges that were great.

She had insisted that it was not her fault,

Yet no one could see the mishaps coming to a halt.

The society was fine, but even the family didn’t spare her,

Poor thing, she gave up, surrendered to crimson color

That’s what happens to a person who is not mistaken at all!

She comes forth and gives in to ‘the suicidal fall’

It’s strange to see things that question your presence,

But stranger indeed to see such big things, make not even a slight difference!!!
